In the early 2000's I started to make street art under the name Pian, I made stencils and posters mostly, I did ONE billboard bombing too. It seems like a lifetime ago and yesterday at the same time. These are some of my favorite pieces from that era.
The first images where from my first Art Show. The expo's theme was "La Lucha" (The Fight) and my personal theme where ballerinas as a metaphor for womanhood. I felt like women in our society are forced to portray this effortless beauty and perfection and all the society rules that come with it: we have to be feminine, we have to look a certain way, women don't sit like this or do that and all that nonsense. Just like the ballerinas that seem to move effortless and floating on stage, but in order to do so, they put years and years of practice and really hard work in order to achieve "perfection" the fight is for gender equality. Be a ballerina, be a MMA fighter be whatever you wanna be is my motto.
